Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born on July 9 1956. He is an American actor as well as filmmaker and director. He is well-known for his comedic and dramatic roles. He is an American cultural icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was the child of Janet Marylyn, a hospital worker, and Amos Mefford Hanks (an itinerant chef). His mother was named "Fraga" while his father was mostly English. Tom was raised in an "fractured family". He did not have any acting experience prior to college. This is what made him start his career. He went downtown, and took part in a community stage production. He was then invited by the director of the play to Cleveland and from there, the beginning of his acting career took off.
